Built in 1923, St. Catharines Collegiate offers year-round educational programming to more than 600 students, right in the heart of downtown. By participating in the Commercial Custom Retrofit Program and upgrading the building automation system, the historic building was able to reduce natural costs, improve energy efficiency and enhance air quality, making the space more comfortable for students and staff.

Contact your Energy Services Advisor (ESA) early in the project planning stage to have your project pre-qualified and maximize the incentives available to you. We’ll estimate natural gas savings based on the project details and provide an incentive quote. If you haven’t already worked with an ESA, you’ll be provided with one for support every step of the way, at no additional cost.
Contact your ESA and provide a copy of the purchase order. Submit completed technical input sheets with an estimated date of installation and commissioning.
After the energy efficiency upgrade is commissioned and operational, your ESA will confirm final project details through a site inspection and/or by requesting a copy of the project invoice.
Submit all required paperwork and receive your incentive cheque in 4 – 6 weeks.
The Affordable Housing Multi - Residential program provides incentives for eligible energy-efficient upgrades in social, affordable and market-rate multi-family buildings.

* Project upgrades refer to the difference between the equipment and implementation costs of the energy-efficient option and those of the alternate option considered.

Incentives are based on natural gas saved and are calculated at the rate of $0.50/m3 for condensing boilers and $0.30/m3 for high-efficiency boilers, up to 75 percent of energy efficiency upgrade costs, to a maximum of $100,000 per project. Boilers under 300,000 Btu/hour (MBH) with 90 percent efficiency (annual fuel utilization efficiency) or lower do not qualify for incentives. Contact your Energy Solutions Advisor to confirm eligibility. To qualify for bonus incentives, equipment must be installed and commissioned by Oct. 31, 2024. Incentive offers are subject to change based on budget availability.

Terms and Conditions: Contact an Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisor to confirm your project’s eligibility. All Commercial Custom Retrofit projects must be pre-approved by Enbridge Gas to qualify for incentives. Incentives are only made available to customers where Enbridge Gas energy efficiency offer(s) have impacted the customer’s decision to proceed with the improvement(s). Incentive cannot exceed 50 percent of the energy efficiency upgrade costs, to a maximum of $100,000 per project. Contact an Energy Solutions Advisor for applicable incentives on projects with institutional customers (universities, colleges, hospitals, military bases, plus eligible buildings interested in connecting to district energy systems). To receive an incentive, a completed 2024 Commercial Custom application form and proof of purchase matched to installation address must be provided to Enbridge Gas. Incentive offers are available between Jan. 1, 2024 and Nov. 30, 2024.
