Enbridge Gas Distribution and Union Gas have merged into one company, Enbridge Gas Inc. This program page is for Affordable Housing Multi-Residential buildings formerly served by Union Gas.
Reduce operating and maintenance costs for your building with incentives for equipment upgrades. With the Affordable Multi-Family Housing Program, our energy experts can help eligible social, not-for-profit and market-rate multi-family buildings develop an action plan to drive down costs, speed up payback and improve resident comfort.
Privately owned market-rate housing must be rented to tenants at rates that are at or below the average rents specified by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMCH).

Let’s talkBy switching to high-efficiency natural gas systems—including a domestic hot water boiler—Simcoe County Housing Corporation is saving up to 40 percent on natural gas consumption and improving comfort for the seniors, families and individuals they serve.
“We’ve improved our entire portfolio of housing stock by leveraging Enbridge Gas incentives. They combine well with our planned retrofit and capital projects.”

Public Housing Manager
Get up to $8,000 per building for an energy assessment to identify opportunities for natural gas savings in multi-family buildings four storeys and higher, or 6,400 square feet or greater. An annual maximum limit of $40,000 per housing provider applies.
Free upgrades in all eligible units include:
Uncover cost-effective opportunities specific to your building—and and we’ll pay up to $200,000 of the costs to upgrade and install.
